Welcome to Casa Celajes, your refuge from everything your real life throws at you. Life in the boca is simple: monkeys in the trees, the constant song of the sea, sunsets you can only dream up. The idea of building the house was to transform my little shack into something lovely I could share with travellers from around the world, or from around the corner. With three rental spaces, and my home upstairs, you’ll have privacy with only a couple fellow guests, all of whom share the salt water pool, high speed internet, full kitchens and super comfy beds.
You are just a few steps from the mouth of the river, which reveals extraordinary tidepools at low tide, and is super easy to cross to 5 miles of absolutely empty beach (though you might find yourself keeping company with an Olive Ridley tortoise during an arribada, when the females come to deposit their eggs). The surf break on this beach is one of the hidden marvels of the area: warm water, a long paddle out and an absolutely empty wave. And there are miles of nearby jungle trails that can lead you to the incredible mangroves, directly to north Pelada beach, or all the way to Guiones.
The bustle of Guiones, and the lesser bustle of Pelada, are just a few minutes away by car, quad or tuktuk. And, of course, the trails. All will lead you to yoga classes, breathwork experiences, delicious restaurants and a variety of local bars. If you want to change up your experience, Nosara offers so much: take a fabulous catamaran tour on the Kaya to Pink Island (Isla Rosada), brush up your spanish at our Nosara Spanish Institute, spend a day at the Bodhi Tree for yoga, gym time, and a renowned juice bar, or drive up to the sumptuous view from Coyol, where you can feast on deliciously-prepared local fare for that super special celebration.

This special little one-bedroom provides a kind of tiny home experience. With a full-sized bed, a full kitchen, a lovely bathroom and a comfy couch, you’ll be able to nest in complete privacy. I built the casita to live in while we were building the main house. Over the garage, it has its own entrance up some private stairs, and a balcony where you can sway your day away in the hammock, serenaded by the Pacific and shaded by trees.
